Involvement with Wursthall
[edit]Kenji is no longer involved with Wursthall (in any business or food-related capacity, though they still use some of his old recipes) as he has clarified several times on social media in the past few years. Here's a comment from him on /r/seriouseats about this from 2021: https://www.reddit.com/r/seriouseats/comments/oszuh0/made_it_to_wursthall/h6ungy4/
I did a bit of looking but couldn't find a third-party source that says this which is suitable for Wikipedia. Is there anything we can do in this situation to clarify that he's not involved with Wursthall anymore? Learnsciencefromwiki (talk) 16:07, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
Family
[edit]Isn’t it strange that he is introduced as the son of his father, but as the grandson of his maternal grandfather? Why not mention his mother? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.65.58.190 (talk) 17:33, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- @72.65.58.190: if you can find a reliable citation about his mother, feel free to add it in. Jooojay (talk) 19:13, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- His mother is Keiko Nakanishi. More detailed bio here. 97.120.20.35 (talk) 13:35, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
Tyson Mao
[edit]The article relating to that says that "German/Austrian-style beer hall that López-Alt is planning with partners Adam Simpson and Tyson Mao (owners of nearby craft beer/wine bar Grape and Grain)". Couldn't it be some other person named Tyson Mao, rather than the rubik's cube guy? It feels like if J. Kenji Lopez-Alt opened a restaurant with a former rubik's cube champion that'd be something that would have been mentioned in the article. Kczaj (talk) 04:38, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Kczaj: It appears to be the same person on this linkedin profile - https://www.linkedin.com/in/tysonmao/ Also the Tyson Mao article has other citations supporting this. Jooojay (talk) 06:32, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- The citation on Tyson Mao is to the same site. There are some other secondary sources along the same line of tying that Tyson Mao to the restaurant Beer and Grain, but apparently that's not important enough to be mentioned on Tyson Mao's page. Looking on Linkedin, I can confirm it is the same person. It's a shame I can't seem to find any good secondary sources (I might be wrong because I'm new to Wikipedia, but Linkedin can't be used as a source, right?) confirming that it's the same minor celebrity. Oh well. Kczaj (talk) 07:22, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Kczaj: you are correct, Linkedin isn't a reliable source for Wikipedia especially for a living person. But sometimes a new citation will come along in due time. Now that this question is on the talk page, perhaps someone will recheck this a few months/years from now and find another supporting citation? Jooojay (talk) 10:01, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

RS citations and BLP
[edit]@Cerebral726: there is already a RS citation for the move to Seattle (see Seattle Times) added to this page today. There is no reason to be insisting on adding a primary citation. Jooojay (talk) 13:43, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- My apologies, I didn't notice someone had added that. I agree, seems great how it is now! Cerebral726 (talk) 13:53, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Keni is no longer married as of 2024. You can see on his social media he is dating someone else. 2601:18C:8301:7CD0:B599:282B:FC33:31D1 (talk) 15:23, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 18:11, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
eponymous cooking vessel
[edit]can we just say "wok"? Surely we want people to read the encyclopedia and comprehend it, not fight with it. Sebsthomas (talk) 00:02, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
