about South Korea
[edit]Unlike other country (like Canada or Iran), there is no offical announcement that South Korea is supporting Iraqi government in insurgency. The reference that Korea help Iraq fight insurgents is not quite fit because T-50 sale was for exporting goods to boost economy of Korea, and at that time it was not only sold to Iraq, but also to Thailand, Indonesia, and Phillipines. But we don't say that South Korea is the supporting country in South Thailand Insurgency in Thailand or Moro Conflict in Phillipines because Korea sold jet planes to those governments. And please look at the [[KAI T-50 Golden Eagle
- Operational history]] and Talk:Battle of Marawi#Should Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia be added as belligerents?. It says that belligrents should play a major role on that conflict, and it should be a miltary role not a polictical role. As a conclusion, I think South Korea's sale of T-50, it is a political gesture, not a military role.

Naming
[edit]Is it really an insurgency? An insurgency would be described to a conflict with a few battles or offensives (basically a tiny version of a civil war) like between 2003 and 2006 in Iraq following the invasion, when armed groups were fighting the coalition for control of parts of Iraq or the insurgency following 2011 when there was some fighting throughout the country that escalated into a war. This isn’t what’s happening in Iraq now, it’s just terrorist attacks. If this is an insurgency then we can say there’s an insurgency in France because of their frequent terrorist attacks. We should make this an article entirely dedicated to terrorism in Iraq since 2003 IbrahimWeed (talk) 20:35, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
What I meant by terrorist attacks was suicide attacks on civilians or security forces for the premise of causing chaos, not capturing territory IbrahimWeed (talk) 20:36, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
I think we should discuss about name again.
[edit]About this insurgency, I think changing title of this article by User: Ehoah88880 should be reversed to its original name, and we should discuss its new name for it. I found twoproblems from this title.
1. Does Wikipedia have other ISIL insurgency title? No, of course not, because insurgencies conducted by ISIL usually are described in context with other articles such as War in Iraq (2013-2017).
2. It is clear that many sites or news describe this event as Iraq Insurgency.
So my conclusion is that we should go back for first name. I want many to give an idea about my opinion. Thank you. -- Wendylove (talk) 04:00, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
