Correct name?

[edit]

Is this form of the name used by Evan Vaughan Anwyl himself? If not I can see no justification at all for using it here. Seems rather odd that a modern Welsh-speaker would choose the antiquated/anglicised form Vychan rather than the standard Fychan as well. Enaidmawr (talk) 23:58, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I entirely agree - it was a mistake when making the link as I had "cambricized" the name elsewhere and it had linked to the wrong version. The name of the page, ought to be, Evan Vaughan Anwyl. If this can be changed I would be grateful. My apologies James Frankcom (talk) 07:46, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clearing that up, James. Unfortunately the page Evan Vaughan Anwyl will have to be deleted first by an administrator for the move to succeed (just tried). Would you like to make the request? I'm pretty busy on the Welsh wikipedia at the moment (if only I was an admin here as well...!). Enaidmawr (talk) 22:28, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully I've not messed up, but I just copied this article into the new location. I can blank this article then redirect. ~Geaugagrrl talk 22:59, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Geaugagrrl. The problem with that is that the article's history is then lost (remains on this page, of course). Ideally a move is better (and normal practice on wikipedia). Enaidmawr (talk) 23:07, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved the page and its talk page, leaving the original page as a redirect to this one. Useight (talk) 01:08, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! ~Geaugagrrl talk 01:33, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge performed with Anwyl of Tywyn Family article.James Frankcom (talk) 09:26, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do any more of the references need adding to that other article to avoid having to find them again at a later date? If not and whats been transferred is everything, we may as well redirect. BritishWatcher (talk) 09:51, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've done the redirect. Dougweller (talk) 10:07, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can in no way see how this article can be of top importance to WP Wales. The family state that they make no claim to the lineage and even if true, it is a dead line. I am happy to discuss, but Top articles should be few and far between. Henry V only gets a mid ranking for WP Wales, and that is where I think this article should be levelled.
