Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on February 19, 2010.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that marathon races only receive IAAF Gold Label Road Race status if organisers have taken steps to preserve the environment?

Year became that level (specifically gold)?

[edit]

Interesting scenario. WP:NTRACK gives a presumption of notability to anyone finishing top 3 at a gold level race (see criterion No. 3). So I was looking at the Sydney Marathon and saw that it only gained this status in 2015 (makes sense why so few winners before that have articles - they may not be notable and are not presumed notable). Any easy way to add and track when races became gold level (or any level)? Also, any races that were gold and then dropped, when they were gold? I thought that might be helpful for those working on track articles to make sure ones they are starting at least have a presumption of notability. RonSigPi (talk) 00:43, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
