Fair use rationale for Image:GSCLogo.gif
[edit]Image:GSCLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What does GSC in GSC Game World stand for?
[edit]Always wondered this... Anyone have any insights?

[edit]There has been NO official word from GSC Game World to the effect that they are closed or closing. Hence they are not disestablished or defunct *OFFICIALY* (yet anyway). All we have for now are RUMORS. Categories shouldn't be decided by rumors. When there(if?) there is official word on the company closing we can(and should) add those categories back.
They are not dead
[edit]Even if you were correct and the company was defunct that wouldn't mean the officials would be dead so they would very much be able confirm the company being defunct. So far all we have are rumors and fairly vague statements by GSC that do NOT say they are defunct or disestablished. Please provide even ONE reliable(i.e NOT a rumor) source saying that GSC Game World is defunct, disestablished or something to that effect. You can't do that because so far there hasn't been any statement to that effect. Indeed by your own logic the very fact that we have had statements from GSC proves that they are not defunct. 88.85.52.191 (talk) 21:57, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm just wondering if someone could change the date format in the pp-dispute template to 21 December 2011 format so it doesn't show up inCategory:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates. Thanks! Millermk90 (talk) 23:13, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Done. I added the template with Twinkle so you might want to post at WT:TWINKLE and see if they can change that if it is causing problems. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:57, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Prior to making own games, they were translating games - such as the first BLOOD, (possibly?) Interstate '76 and a racing game of EA. This is based off a multi-game CD that has since been damaged and put to garbage, so I can't confirm this.
Not defunct?
[edit]They seem to be alive to some decree since they claimed ownership of the Stalker brand in December 2012: [1] and released a patch to the games in June 2014: [2] --Mika1h (talk) 10:42, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Age discrepancy
[edit]"He came up with the company name and emblem while at school, in 1990, at age 12" "By 1996, when Grygorovych was sixteen, " So was he 12 in 1990 and 18 in 1996, or was he 10 in 1990 and 16 in 1996 2A02:8070:4780:4080:3C4C:CFF1:3F:855C (talk) 10:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- The source you're looking at states that he was 15 in 1993... And then the next source states he was 16 in 1996. This is just weird. CommissarDoggoTalk? 10:50, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- It could be just a mismatch in the sourcing, but, the way I see it, one source is an interview with the man himself and the other is seemingly a general history of the company so I'd personally err on the side of the interview. CommissarDoggoTalk? 10:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Grygorovych was born in 1978 (per ukwiki), so he was 17-18 in 1996. Regards, IceWelder [✉] 12:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
