Track Listing
[edit]Untitled
[edit]How did whoever update the track listing get that information? And why was the credit for "Dead Leaves..." changed from White Stripes to Jack White? --Nubby 15:24, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's been on his Myspace page. And AFAIK, Jack White writes most of the White Stripes' songs. I suspect he's the writer of Dead Leaves... Thanks Dubc0724 17:58, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- "Dead Leaves" is credited to The White Stripes on White Blood Cells, not Jack White. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who wrote it (as he writes pretty much everything), but that's who it's credited to. Pele Merengue 04:16, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
GA nomination on hold
[edit]Please leave a note on my talk page when this stuff has been delt with. Cheers, — Dihydrogen Monoxide 23:17, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- "Chris Thile" should be wlinked for the "artist" parameter in the infobox, so that his name is wlinked throughout the infobox.
- "The album is named for the title track, a cover of the song by folk singer Tom Brosseau." - Reword --> "The album is named after a song on the album; a cover of the original by folk singer Tom Brosseau."
- "album “fantastic, eclectic” [1], and “genius” [2]" - You shouldn't cite these things in the lead if they are noted again in the article. On this note, the article needs a reception section which discusses critical responses to the album. Considering the number of reviews listed in the infobox, it shouldn't be too hard to write one - virtually every album GA has one you can base this off.
- References should always be placed after punctuation. Eg. "...and fiddler Gabe Witcher [3], but didn’t know..." should be "...and fiddler Gabe Witcher,[3] but didn’t know..."
- Is there any more information available for ref 4? Author, specific date, title, etc.?
- "Thile wanted to get the five musicians met for a Nashville jam session in 2005 after he found talented bluegrass musicians that could fill the positions." - Reword --> "Thile wanted to get five musicians together for a Nashville jam session in 2005, after he found talented bluegrass musicians that could fill the positions."
- "What’s the point? [6]" - There shouldn't be a space between the ? and the ref.
- "How to Grow a Woman from the Ground was self produced by Thile, and had no guest musicians, just the quintet. Other than the band, which in promotion of the album was named the How to Grow a Band, the album had a fairly small production crew; an engineer, an assistant engineer, a mastering person, and an artist." - Needs a source/ref.
- Refs 1 and 7 are the same
- ...as are 9 and 10
- "...and singer/songwriter traditions”, [7] with one critic..." "..."roots oriented”. [8] The album..." "...clichéd or trite”. [9] In regard..." "...It’s all related.” [10] Much of Thile's..." "...care of a lot of problems." [11]" - In all cases, there shouldn't be a space between the punctuation and the ref.
- The "Certification" in the "Chart performance" section/table isn't necessary if there are no certifications. Same with the "Sales/shipments" column.
- Refs 12 and 13 need proper {{cite web}} style formatting.
I'll say this again - the article needs a reception section. An "Album and Single releases" section (see Dream Days at the Hotel Existence, for instance) would also be useful. It can't be passed in this state.

- A few more minor things. If the author isn't known, don't use "anonymous", instead just leave that part of {{cite web}} blank. Also, see if the album charted in any other countries. Finally, it'd look better if you took the refs out of the lead. That's about it...— Dihydrogen Monoxide (Review) 04:57, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Artist
[edit]I suggest that the artist be changed to Punch Brothers. I know the album is officially credited to Chris Thile, but retroactively the artists have designated the album as belonging to the Punch Brothers. 134.84.96.142 (talk) 20:59, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
