György Szepesi-Friedländer → György Szepesi – To be precise, he was born as Friedländer, but later changed his surname to Szepesi, the name taken from his father's birth place Szepesváralja (Szeged Kurir), and under which name he is known in the media. For the keywords György Szepesi-Friedländer google threw out hardly more than 100 hits, most of them linking to one site, the International Jewish Hall of Fame. On the other hand, for György Szepesi it gave over 5000 results. With one exception, all the current cites in the article list him as Szepesi, and in addition he published his books also under the name György Szepesi. — Thehoboclown (talk) 19:16, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- Interesting. No objection. Was his original full name then György Friedländer? Am just wondering, for the infobox.--Epeefleche (talk) 20:53, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- According to the sources like Hungarian daily Blikk or Ring Magazin, yes. His father was Miklós Friedländer [1], and there is no source that would mention any additional given name beside György. As a side note, most probably he changed to a Hungarian sounding name to avoid the growing antisemitism and discrimination in the country. He was also forced into a labour battalion in Ukraine, and his father lost his life in the Buchenwald concentration camp. — Thehoboclown (talk) 12:39, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! Very interesting. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 15:49, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

Match of the Century (1953 England v Hungary football match)
[edit]No mention currently of the Match of the Century (1953 England v Hungary football match). His radio broadcast was on the Hungarian TV last night (M4 Sport) with the BBC? pictures (no TV in Hungary at the time). Don't speak Hungarian but it was great stuff.
