Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that this page be merged with Camadas de Guimarota, as it is simply a WP:CONTENTFORK of this article. According to the article itself, the Alcobaça Formation was originally called the Guimarota Formation. I'm pretty sure "Camadas de Guimarota" is simply the Portuguese name for the Guimarota Formation, so I believe there should be no reason to have two different articles for the same unit. It looks like the Camadas de Guimarota refers to an old coal mine notable only for its paleontology. If that's the case, I wonder if the merger shojld go the other way -- from the mine to the formation article, with its infobox and other detailed information. --Kent G. Yeah, the Camadas de Guimarota is a defunct coal mine with little significance beyond its paleontology I agree with a reverse merge i.e. Merging the mine into the formation. Hemiauchenia (talk) 17:11, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
