2007 Results

[edit]

According to WHAS 11's homepage (http://www.whas11.com/topstories/stories/052407whasjnLocalSteamboatrace.2ecb3b11.html), the Belle of Louisville won this years race. I am going to change the page to reflect that.Jadis96 04:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problems. Last I heard, the victory had been the Delta Queen's. The reversal must have been after I stopped paying attention to the news.--Bedford 04:43, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture taking

[edit]

I'll probably be working that day, so its doubtful I'll be able to take pics of the race. Otherwise, I will try to take pics of the start, midway thru the race at Duffy's Landing, and then as close a pic as I can get to Six Mile Island when they do the turn around. If anyone else can follow the "race", so much the better.--Bedford 03:14, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I got to take the pictures (one benefit of being let go). I went ahead and put what I thought was the best picture on the page. The rest I took are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/8084386@N02/show/ Let me know if I should add any of these to Wikipedia as well.--Bedford 23:34, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Results Table Dispute

[edit]

The results table, which matches the official Web site, has Belle of Louisville winning in 1964. This seems to contradict the article which says "The first race was in 1963" and "The Delta Queen won the first four races".--Unsigned by User:64.119.141.34 on May 2, 2007

I know. But both are from the Official Kentucky Derby Festival website. I'm hoping I can find something to rectify the record.--Bedford 18:03, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geo data

[edit]

Suggestion: For those reading this who are not from Kentucky, could you add the city(ies), state and river where the race is run? 192.104.231.235 (talk) 13:25, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'm surprised I didn't mention Ohio River. Fixed.--Bedford Pray 16:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Site references and add pictures to raise class. Mid level importance, local tradition well known. Doesn't draw a crowd from outside Metro Louisville. Jahnx April 27, 2007.
