Henry Clay
[edit]Clay was not a "contempory" friend to abolitionist. He was a an enslaver himself, holding dozens of enslaved on his plantation. In fact he helped create the Slave act of 1850 stripping all rights of the enslaved. 98.58.155.49 (talk) 12:47, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
Article length
[edit]The article is much too long. It is written like an encyclopedic entry and contains information that shouldn’t be in an article of this sort. Interested editors are encouraged to review it and make appropriate cuts to shorten it. The lead was also too long, violating the WP:LEAD criterion, so I likewise shortened it.
