Hoax?

[edit]

Is this singer "an openly gay, outrageously flamboyant transvestite"? Because that's the only entry on AllMusic.com that has any content at all. There's nothing on Amazon either. Drmies (talk) 06:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See item. I think this is just massively overhyped, primarily because the purpose is not to promote his singing but some "left-field" spiritual organisation. The fact that the guy got through umpteen managers in not a lot of time suggests that his music career was flawed, a common trait with child singers (although there are exceptions, eg: Charlotte Church and, of course, Michael Jackson). See this book and Billboard also. - Sitush (talk) 09:26, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Kaya described in the article above is in fact Kaya (Japanese Musician), not Kaya (Canadian Singer), and could/should be a source there. Salvidrim (talk) 05:47, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sure sources

[edit]

Please, would you mind to remove this: " Please do not remove this tag unless the article has at least one such source."

There is a such source, Kaya is the direct and only source of this biography, i am working for him... 2 paragraphes can not contain a life story... I don't understand why they have deleted the spirituals moment of his biography... It is so important to understand to learn about what he is living right now ans his evolution... He does not promoting his nonprofit organization but his singing career like every known singer in the world... ( 15 years ago : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chz3j6vzJDs&feature=related and see the other songs.. And now : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtqLZuZE4_Q )

I don't know if it is you but is it possible to do not cut his biography each time... At the beginning it was more than 2 pages and now it is very very short...

We are all greatfull for your job... Thank you for your patience and comprehension ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaya UCM (talkcontribs) 17:13, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You should not edit this article if you are working for him - see conflict of interest. If Kaya is the only source available then it is definitely going to go as Wikipedia standards require multiple, verifiable, independent sources. Furthermore, this is not the place for an autobiography, even if it is a ghosted one. Personally, I think you are wasting your time with this; I would certainly urge you to read the various policies and guidelines which have previously been outlined to you before spending much more of your time "developing" this article. Sorry, but that is how it is: if an article does not comply then it will be deleted. - Sitush (talk) 17:17, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kaya (Canadian singer)Francis Martin (musician) – Topic's primary notability claim, the reason why he has a Wikipedia article at all, was under the name Francis Martin rather than the name Kaya. This was originally created by the subject himself (or his manager) as an advertorial about his current work, while almost completely eliding his actual notability claim (it mentioned the Juno nominations, but failed to connect them to the Francis Martin name he received them under, so it looked like a hoax until I found the sources that clarified who Kaya actually was), and was subsequently cleaned up but left at its original title — but the subject has since tried twice to have it deleted on the grounds that he no longer has the same wide public profile that he had 20 years ago. He has Juno Award nominations under his belt, however, which is the kind of notability claim where we have to keep something about him regardless of his personal wishes — so the appropriate solution here, the one that best balances his personal privacy rights now with his public prominence in the 1990s, is to keep the article about his pop-rock career as Francis Martin while minimizing how much it says about his current life.
