Club dispute
[edit]Matuzalem is still under contract to Shakhtar Donetsk [1], therefore he can not sign with any other club, and untill legal dispue is over Matuzalem remains under contract to Shakhtar, Please do not engage in a edit war.--MaksKhomenko 13:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have to agree with MaksKhomenko on this, however, the fact that Zaragoza did sign Matuzalem (albeit illegally) should be mentioned in the profile, with a suggestion of likely UEFA arbitration on the illegal signing. --Palffy 00:20, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- ...err, FIFA (see Palkin's speech in Russian here). --Palffy 00:30, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have added some information about Matuzalem's escape and Zaragoza signing.--MaksKhomenko 12:35, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Name
[edit]Francelino is a given name, so Matuzalem da Silva should be his common name and in correct spelling, have lots of source to Matuzalem da Silva in Italian media. Matthew_hk tc 00:12, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Matuzalém → Matuzalem — No source his name have é instead of e, and there is no standardized spelling on registration office(Ântonio Antonio both allowed). Matthew_hk tc 20:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) covers this issue. Since Portugese is a Romance language, proper names are generally not transliterated into English, although diacritics may be dropped in some instances due to technical restrictions. Since Wikipedia uses Unicode, there is no technical restriction on the use of diacritics. Barring any obvious reliable, verifiable sources to establish WP:COMMONNAME I do not see a compelling reason for this move to occur.
— V = I * R (talk) 05:19, 9 August 2009 (UTC) - Comment - I was under the impression that this fellow's name was "Matuzalém", and there are sources available to corroborate this. The fact that there are few English-language sources that use this spelling should be irrelevant when you consider that the difference is just one diacritic. – PeeJay 08:41, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Ohms law. This is case of Wikipedia:Use_English#No_established_usage. No separate English usage has emerged for writing Matuzalém's name specifically, so we should go with the native spelling. --Atemperman (talk) 19:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Parma
[edit]I found a mystery deal by Parma-Napoli in June 2001, which Napoli bought Matuzalém another half for 14 billion lire and made Parma had a co-ownership income of 9 billion (on Napoli side, the co-ownership cost of same amount documented on 9 billion), however, co-currently Parma bought half of the registration rights of a mystery player for 14 billion lire (in order to make the deal a pure player swap), which documented in 2000–01 accounts of Napoli but not shown in Parma one. The mystery deal seems resolved in July 2001 as Matuzalém returned to Parma in full and re-sold to Piacenza, with the co-ownership deal of the mystery player was resolved before the annual meeting in June 2002. As in Napoli accounts did not shown a huge co-ownership income nor co-ownership as worse as any breakdown, the resolve price nor he was signed (re-signed) by Parma or Napoli was not known. It was informative as false accounting but i can't find any other source, and it somewhat related to Matuzalém, i did not add the content to the article yet. Matthew_hk tc 13:57, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
