Significant doubt

[edit]

Is the evidence verified that this is the National flag of Ryukyu Kingdom? In Commons, User:圓周率 shows a Japanese Museum bulletin PDF [1], but it describes that this flag is just the SHIP FLAG. However the Pattern of the Ming dynasty is represented by File:Left-facing dragon pattern on Wanli Emperor's imperial robe.svg in JP Wikipedia[2], I am not saying that this flag should not be used. But is important that this flag is just the Ship flag. (About classification of flags, see Glossary of vexillology and so on.) --Russenlager (talk) 01:48, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is fake. The article by Saegusa Daigo, which was originally discovered by me, was misused by a post-truth guy, who cannot read Japanese and/or lacks intellectual honesty to read the source faithfully. This article demonstrates that there was no such flag in reality. What was there was a Japanese-style banner featuring the family crest of the ruling family. --Nanshu (talk) 10:49, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And you are a pre-truth guy since you claimed the flag was a Wikipedia hoax despite multiple pre-internet sources existing? ミラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 06:19, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

[edit]

This article was created with malicious intent. Obviously, the primary motivation was to host the fake flag. Worse yet, this article was used to push an absurd POV: The U.S. military occupation of Okinawa was a continuation of the Ryukyu Kingdom. What an apologist!

The only flag that deserves an article is the modified delta flag. It was used officially until 1967. The article title is open to debate. The Japanese article is titled ja:琉球船舶旗. --Nanshu (talk) 10:49, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most articles titled Flag of X include a variety of flags, not limited to naval ensigns. In fact, the delta ensign was not officially recognized and resulted in ships flying it being seized, so I don't know where you're getting "officially" from. ミラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 06:16, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
