[edit]The article on iatrogenesis has a link to this article and mentions that Dr. Sauerbruch became demented and performed unnecessary surguries, as was noted by his colleagues. If this is true, it should be mentioned in this article. If not, then the iatrogenesis article needs correction.

Most of all, if the case with iatrogenesis is true, the article demands gritty details. 82.103.224.236 (talk) 15:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
his work in thorax-surgery was revolutionary. shouldnt this be mentioned?--85.180.58.234 01:28, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Claiming Sauerbruch was anti-Nazi is oversimplistic if not plain wrong in my opinion. The German site gives a much more balanced view. E.g. it should be mentionend that Sauerbruch signed documents in support of funds for research on human objects in Natzweiler (Alsace) e.g. with mustard gas. So even if he criticized certain inhuman practices of Nazi doctors he did take part in others and therefore is responsible for a considerable number of deaths in concentration camps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.67.28.118 (talk) 16:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

The Wikipedia article is correctly marked as a stub. It seems to be incorrect in labeling him 'anti-Nazi'. See http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1602148, for an article in Annals of Surgery, for a more comprehensive and more authoritative article on the subject, where Sauerbruch's attitude to Nazism is described as ambivalent.BenYoel (talk) 13:01, 28 March 2009 (UTC) |
