The result of this discussion was No Consensus. The trouble here is that the only connection between the two bands is that they have a single member in common, so this is not an appropriate target for Detente (band) to be merged into. Moreover, proposer Jarhed's stated reasons for desiring the merge would be far better served by deletion. Concerning the disambiguation link he refers to, neither a merge nor deletion is necessary to justify its removal (and in fact it has since been removed by another editor). I recommend that Detente (band) be merged here. I note that neither of these two groups meets WP musical group notability guidelines: Wikipedia:Notability_(music), and I note also that Dawn Crosby doesn't meet notability guidelines, either. I have looked for secondary sources, and the only thing I can find online that appears remotely reliable is from Allmusic: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/detente-p23225/biography. I note also that the official FoG website also conflates the two bands: http://www.fear-of-god.com/. Frankly, I don't care about any of these articles, and my main concern is to remove the disambiguation link from the top of the Détente article, which I consider to be just incredibly self-promoting.Jarhed (talk) 17:04, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
