Definitely should not be merged into Emotion (Destiny's Child song) - if anything the Destiny's Child song should be merged into here. Both songs were big hits, although the Samantha Sang version was the first and the biggest. Some people are going to be more familiar with Sang's version and other's with Destiny's Child's version. We should either have one article that discusses the versions in chronological order, or have two seperate articles. Merging into the Destiny's Child would be wrong. It would be saying that Destiny's Child had a hit with the song, but, by the way, 30 years ago the original version was an even bigger hit. That's getting things round the wrong way I think Rossrs 08:01, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And somebody decided to remove all the information about the Samantha Sang original. Not only is doing that extremely misleading, but it borders on vandalism. Extraordinary Machine 18:55, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Destiny's child-emotion.jpg

[edit]

Image:Destiny's child-emotion.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:47, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Samantha Sang version

[edit]

Why is there a need to specify that it's Samantha Sang's version when the title already said it's her song? Please stop the unnecessary insertion the word "version" into every song article. Hzh (talk) 13:03, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's not her song. The song was written by Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb. It is their song. She had the first hit with it which means her verion is the original hit version. Could you please stop stalking my edits? I've asked you many times to stop yet you continue to stalk me and harass me. Caden cool 17:46, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Caden: Who is stalking your edits? I simply looked at a few pages where you made recent changes add version to every music article, without bothering to explain why (which you still haven't explain why you have such a liking for the word "version" when you don't even know its dictionary meaning and had to be explained). If you don't want to explain your edits, then your edits would be challenged and removed. You don't own any article just because you made some edits to some articles. You cannot demand that others not make edits simply because you edited them. 18:04, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Read up on Wikipedia guidelines, and understand that when someone challenges your edits, you are required to explain them, and not just make accusation about stalking and other even stranger accusations (like I was related to the Righteous Brothers). Failure to respond to challenges will in future be taken up with the administrators (which I would also encourage you to do since you keep making accusations, not just against me, but others as well. You should let the administrators decide if you alone are right and everyone else is wrong.) Hzh (talk) 18:11, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
YOU have been stalking my edits for months so please quit it. Stop flaunting rules and guidelines and stop with your WP Games. I know exactly what your doing and I do not appreciate it. Filing bogus reports on me and opening threads on multiple talk pages to harass and bully me into speaking further with you is completely unacceptable. How many times have I told you to stop stalking/harassing me? How many times do I have to tell you that I have nothing more to say to you? When will you ever stop? What is wrong with you? Stop editing articles that you never edited before but only began editing because they are articles I edit. Furthermore, you have failled to explain your preferred versions on many articles that you stalked me on. You also failed to provide me with rules and guidelines that you accuse me of breaking. You were told by Martinevans that my edits are fine and not dubious like you allege and he also asked you for the same rules/guidelines you claim I violated and you never provided it. Now for the last time stop stalking me, stop harassing me, and leave me alone! Caden cool 18:42, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It is to do with simple English usage, like knowing the definitions of words like "version". If you don't know the definition of words, then WP:COMPETENCE is the one that is applicable. In this case, it's simply knowing that when the title explicitly stated that it is a Samantha Sang's song, you don't need to repeat that it is Samantha Sang's version. Like I said, if you want to complain about any alleged harassment, take it up with the administrators. I look forward to it. Hzh (talk) 18:49, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also note that you were requested to discuss the edit on this song over a month ago (here and here), the discussion was opened to discuss edits like this. I would note that you have steadfastly refused to contribute to the discussion, choosing instead to make the accusation of stalking weeks later. Hzh (talk) 11:59, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@HzH. Could you please point me to these so called policies and guidelines at WP:SONGCOVER and at WP:SONG, that supports your preferred versions on all of the articles you reverted me on during your busy time of stalking me? Caden cool 19:15, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
