Notability

[edit]

These writers are included in several standard reference works on women's writing, as noted in references, which indicates sufficient notability to my mind. Also, I appreciate your enthusiasm but I just posted it and am still working on it. Perhaps check back? — scribblingwoman 16:28, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy keep comments

[edit]

While I closed the article as a speedy keep, this topic does need more citations (of which there are plenty on Google Scholar). In addition, having the article named after one of the two sisters may be an issue. Perhaps an alternate title could be used such as "Elizabeth and Jane Purbeck"?--SouthernNights (talk) 19:33, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your resolution of the AFD issue. And yes, I was wondering about how to name the article. The problem with making two articles is that they would have essentially been the same so I went with one article with the first sister in alphabetical order but I think your solution -- using both names -- is better.— scribblingwoman 20:23, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to help. I also reformatted the article a bit to better fit with other author articles on Wikipedia and added some additional information and citations. Best, --SouthernNights (talk) 12:42, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template?

[edit]

As per others' suggestions, the article has been renamed and beefed up with more information and references. I don't want to jump the gun on removing the template, so am requesting feedback here. Thank you! — scribblingwoman 22:23, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
