I am trying to understand the current edit war.

12:06, 5 April 2024 (UTC) "revert incorrect figure". This edit changed the GDP per capita from ₹182,373 to ₹141,373 for FY2024-25. The cited source said ₹141,373 for FY2022-23 at current prices. (Current prices are not inflation adjusted.)

This is a growth of 11.5% over the revised estimate of GSDP for 2021-22 (Rs 15,36,681 crore). In 2021-22, GSDP is estimated to grow at 18.1% over the previous year (at current prices).

Replacing named references

@Shubhrojeet: I have no objection to your edit of 05:19, 27 August 2024 (UTC) replacing February 2024 estimates for FY2024-25 with July 2023 estimates for FY2023-24. The reason you gave in your edit summary is sensible: FY 2024-25 is not over yet, no need to put future estimates.[reply]

But the concept of named references is that they are used at several places in the same article. And the definition is only in once. Your edit deleted the definition of <ref name="FRBM2024">, which caused errors.^[1] I have fixed it.^[2]

Whether this citation really supports some of the things it is cited for is another matter. An editor on 26 August spotted an instance where it was given as a citation but did not contain the cited information and corrected it.^[3] There are probably more cases where that is true.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:52, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
