Classicists? "The officer classes of the RAF at that time were often trained not in science or engineering, but in the classics, Roman and Greek history and language." - needs a source. Seems unlikely: prewar RAF officer recruitment had favoured motor enthusiasts, for instance. 81.159.112.34 (talk) 20:41, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Design?

There isn't much in the article right now about the design of the bomb. However, from what little I can gather it had a mass of hard metal in the nose to help it batter its way through whatever it hit, a (comparatively) small bursting charge and a time-delay fuse to give it the time it needed to work. If so, it was basically the same as an armor piercing shell, such as warships would use in combat. And, in fact, the armor piercing bombs you read about being used in WWII were exactly that: shells with fins attached, mostly of calibers that weren't in use anymore. If anybody out there has more details on the internal workings of the earthquake bomb, it would be good to add them to the article itself.JDZeff (talk) 19:23, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
