Spellings

[edit]

I am familiar only with Dasara. Never seen it spelt "Dussehra". Having Google'd it, Dussehra wins with 272,000 hits. Dasara second, with 135,000. The two transliterations that were part of the original article came up with only 37,000 and 17,000 respectively. I've changed the article to reflect these findings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vvuppala (talkcontribs) 02:49, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Different person*

I am a hindu and I know that Dasara and Dussehra are the same festival, just spelled defferently, the two articles shoule be merged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.217.73.158 (talkcontribs) 03:53, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:COMMONNAME and WP:RM. If you really believe that Dussehra is not the correct spelling then you are going to have to get the article moved to whatever the correct spelling may be. As far as I can see, the sources at present in the article do indeed spell it Dussehra. We are not interested in whether you are a Hindu. - Sitush (talk) 15:26, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I have replied to a comment from 2006 that probably related to an earlier version of the article when it was indeed concerned with Hinduism! Anyway, someone has been changing the spellings recently to this thing in its current state as a movie article, so my comment above is still valid. - Sitush (talk) 15:27, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I note the recent upload of File:Dassehra_Film_poster.jpg. Is it the same film? Is it an official poster? Why can't we find, say, a news source reporting the latest projected release date (it has been put back before). Given the amount of promotional editing that has gone on with this article in the past, I'm inclined to wait until the reviews come out and then update it accordingly. - Sitush (talk) 09:16, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
