[edit]Just started this page from an off-link of Dungeons & Dragons. Feel free to pitch in and add. Eirek 21:35, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
Introduction
[edit]According to this piece of text, the Basic game isn't a board game, but an introduction to the main D&D franchise for people who don't know how to play an RPG. This is a boardgame. --Jamdav86 18:43, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- This is true and this article needs some serious correction which I do not have time to do today. Whoever wrote or last edited seems to be very confused between the Dungeons & Dragons Basic game[1] an introduction to the roleplaying game cut down but fully compatible with the full game, and the Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Adventure Boardgame[2] which is a seperate boardgame only avaialable in Europe based on the Dungeons & Dragons RPG. - Waza 02:22, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your agreeing with me. To compound this further I just got the Forbidden Forest expansion pack, owning the Basic game but not owning the board game, and it has a completely different set of rules, not only to the Basic Game but also Dungeons & Dragons in general! It uses some stange die with footprints on it, some game cards and the figures are just coloured blobs of plastic! I suggest moving the top bit to Basic Game and adding the board game details. --Jamdav86 18:47, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have updated a lot of info including removing stuff refering to basic game, but still a lot to do. It would be helpful if someone who has the boardgame could add some info. - Waza 04:24, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Game FAQs
[edit]Cutting and pasting the entire game FAQ into this article seems totally in appropriate. So I tried to remove them. But I could not edit the page because it says an exteranl link which I can't mention here because otherwise it want let me save these comments either, but which seems to be a legitimate link about this game is spam blacklisted on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spam_blacklist (which it doesn't actually apear to be). -Waza 01:41, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Lets try writing the problem link like this and you can put your own http:// on front if you want to see it - dndboardweb.awardspace.com -Waza 01:42, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
First Line?
[edit]Someone should seriously revise the first line: "The Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Adventure Boardgame is a fantasy adventure boardgame." No shit! -Kingurth 19:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, no shit! it is. Please feel free to edit the article if you feel you can improve it.
Fair use rationale for Image:DnD fantasy adventure.jpg
[edit]Image:DnD fantasy adventure.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
