Could someone try to move the birthdate to the right place? Somehow the "15" won't get next to "April". Gyurika (talk) 16:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move to Dodi Fayed

[edit]

This man called himself Dodi Fayed, and not Dodi Al-Fayed. Even his father's web site calls him Dodi Fayed (see here). Shouldn't we move the article to Dodi Fayed, over the redirect? Strawless (talk) 14:58, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So may I just check, does anyone object to the move? Strawless (talk) 13:54, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've had the same belief for years, but didn't know the protocol for saying so, much less the protocol for moving an article, So I'll second the motion. Any votes?? Donfbreed (talk) 21:18, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well if you're going to change the guy's name, at least make it consistent - at the moment, the Arabic reads 'al Fayed'. The English 'Fayed'. Best to find out why the change was adopted and put both on, rather than favour one exclusively over the other. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.49.69 (talk) 17:27, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed consistency in cause of death

[edit]

In the article body, al Fayed's cause of death is attributed to their car's driver being drunk, with pursuing paparazzi as a possible contributing factor, yet the cause of death in the header is "murdered". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.144.86 (talk) 03:51, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kelly Fisher

[edit]

The article should mention his broken engagement to Kelly Fisher, as the break-up occurred after he became involved with Princess Diana in the summer of 1997.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 08:01, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MURDERED?!?!

[edit]

Um, in the side window, where it gives Fayed's info, why does it say, Cause of Death: Murdered. ? Fayed wasn't murdered. He was killed in a DUI accident with Princess Diana.--Splashen (talk) 03:48, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name??

[edit]

From the article: "Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Mena'em Fayed (Egyptian Arabic: عماد الدين محمد أنور شاكر عبدالسيد الفايد‎, IPA: [ʕeˈmæːd ɪdˈdiːn mæˈħæmmæd ʕæbdelˈmenʕem fæːjed])"

The name as written in Arabic is roughly "Emad El-Din Mohamed Anwar Shakir Abdel Sayyid Al-Fayed", which matches neither the latinized name nor the IPA transcription. Why is this? P~M (Talk) 12:50, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth

[edit]

There seem to bee inconsistency about Dodi Fayeds date of birth. The article currently says 17 April. Swedish wikipedia gives a reference to something called matchId https://deces.matchid.io/id/KKfvZb4u-47Z which I don't know what it is. That says also 17 April and on Ancestry.com (french death records it says 17 April but I can't find the actual record). However, his tombstone on Findagrave says 15 April. Does anyone know which is correct? DrKilleMoff (talk) 20:09, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
