"This page may meet Wikipedia’s criteria for speedy deletion as a very short article lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. See CSD A1." - no, this is not correct. The article *does* have sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. The subject is "Distillers in Canada" as described below (copied directly from the article itself):

Distillers in Canada refers to distillers of various alcoholic distilled beverages (spirits) such as whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. in the country of Canada.

If I am just battling against time vs. a bot, please call 'em off and at least give people a chance to argue against speedy deletion for a minute or two! Facts707 (talk) 04:36, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No bots have been involved yet. It is actual humans. The hangon tag is sufficient to stave off a speedy deletion. A better article name would be Alcohol in Canada. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 04:42, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What's the point of this article supposed to be? Is anybody going to start naming the distillers? Is this going to be a list or a "regular" article? PKT(alk) 00:33, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No response. I'm going to set this to redirect to Canadian whisky. PKT(alk) 22:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resurrection. Renaming?

[edit]

Ran into this while searching for pretty much the title. Wound up finding a couple links with some good information so I thought I'd contribute back here--had been meaning to actually create an account and get a bit more involved anyhow. Aaaand that took an evening of reading about editing things here which really limited how much I got done on the actual list so far.

Maybe it should be renamed "List of distilleries in Canada" to go along with List of distilleries in Scotland? Or is it better to leave the limited stub that was here to history and start that afresh as a new article?

My intent is not so narrow as just whisky despite that being my interest. However, I do have more enthusiasm to catalog facilities rather than entities as a distillery ultimately produces something, a distiller could be interpreted as a brand and a recipe. Order of Entries?

[edit]

Is there any system to the order of entries? Ds77 (talk) 20:51, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
