Dorian stock?
[edit]If Diogenes of Apollonia was a native of the Milesian colony of Apollonia in Thrace, he would most likely have been of Ionian, not Dorian stock. Elsewhere, however, (here and here) he is cited as being a native of Apollonia in Crete - which would make him a Dorian after all -, or of Apollonia in Phrygia - which would make him a foreigner. See also Burnet's note on the question. --Fabullus (talk) 14:16, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
