Title

This was moved from Daniel to Daniil, but the article was not updated. Perhaps there is a common name argument to be made here, but I do not see why we cannot use Daniel if the titles for articles for previous patriarchs use names such as Cyril, Neophyte etc. Mellk (talk) 09:02, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article was updated in regards to the name at the time of the move but somebody else reverted the changes made by a new edit. When I changed the page from the English spelling of Daniel to the one of Daniil it was made using the sources given, meaning using the spelling that the Bulgarian Church preffered on their website. The spelling is strictly a matter of how Bulgarian names are transliterated and I would say not translated to the English version. Aaron Medicus (talk) 21:33, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Orthodox Times refers to him as Daniel. I believe that, since this is the main Orthodox press medium in English, the name should be translated. Comendador Sombra (talk) 17:07, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Daniel is the English version of the name and it should be used. Just like Daniele is the Italian version of the name and it is used on the Italian page, Данило is the Serbian version of the name and it is used on the Serbian page and so on and so on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boyar (talk • contribs) 05:45, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
