Talk:Daniel Lewin
"but this is in dispute"
[edit]I deleted the above phrase about Lewin's possible Sept 11 heroics, since a) I have not seen this possibility disputed anywhere b) the fact that the report says he 'may' have been involved already means it isn't certain. I also made a short reference to the fact he is believed to be the first-class passenger reported stabbed on that flight. I decided not to flesh this out at all since that information is already in the flight 11 page, and it is better that this page focusses on his main life achievements. --Jaibe 21:04, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I've removed parts of this article that were speculation and poorly backed up by an untrustworthy source. I also dispute the facts about Lewin's involvement with the Mossad - that should be backed with information - but since I have no such information at hand I've left it as it was. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Akievsky (talk • contribs) 09:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC).
more speculation deleted
[edit]The below is interesting but unsubtantiated and poorly edited. I reverted back quite a few versions to get the UPI quote back in.--Jaibe 23:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Lewin was killed aboard American Airlines Flight 11 during the September 11, 2001 attacks, allegedly toward the beginning of the hijacking. Lewin was sitting next to one of the hijackers. as growing up in Jerusalem he understood what the hijacker was saying when he was on the phone with his friend, who was hijacking flight 175. they were saying to each other things like "goodbye my friend" and most popular "we are in position and we are ready to kill" one hijacker (the one he was later stabbed by) sat behind him and could tell by his face that he knew what he was saying. he then stabbed him with the box cutter as the other hijackers got into the cockpit.
Oh, and in doing that I also lost this reference. Does anyone know the validity of this web page? Again the info is not substantiated there either, not even the name of the reporter is mentioned, but at least it's well written... --Jaibe 23:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

- Surely the reports that he was shot stabbed or stabbed on the throat are all mere speculation? What is known for certain?203.184.41.226 (talk) 21:38, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

I believe it is impossible to make phone calls from one plane to another.. Cell phones can not be used on a plane there is no cell service at 10,00 plus feet in the air cell phones were not able to do that in 2001. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.55.97.94 (talk) 13:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I went to the link mentioned above, and was disappointed to see that the link for the seating chart for flight 11 actually goes to flight 77's seating chart. Bookbrad (talk) 02:41, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

- The garbage referred to above has been removed from the article. And I've redacted it from the section title above as well, as this canard should not be further disseminated, even in the course of denying it. Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:33, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Throat cut
[edit]Mitchell Zuckoff's new book on 9/11 Fall and Rise says his throat was cut. I guess that is a stabbing but is more specific. This was apparently reported via radio by some airline employees in the plane during events. -- GreenC 18:30, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Memorial Park
[edit]Does it meet notability guidelines to add the park in here? I’m fairly certain that it’s not the same as the intersection, since they’re two separate places.
pretty sure the park opened in 2022, based off https://www.cambridgeredevelopment.org/kendall-open-space
