Merge requests

[edit]

Cypress hills interprovincial park is an ugly, article of copy-vio appearance that seems to obviously need a {{CapitalMove}} but there is currently a request that it be merged to Cypress Hills. That may or may not be a good idea. Cypress Hills is currently a nice article about the geography and landforms of the region. An article somehere about the unique "interprovincial" park should exist. http://www.cypresshills.com DoubleBlue (Talk) 17:48, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article should not be merged as it is it's own unique place, but it should have a {{CapitalMove}} tag as you said. Obviously it will need to be re-written if it is a copy-vio and cite a source. •Zhatt• 22:00, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
I believe that you are right Zhatt. I should note that I cannot confirm it's a copyvio, it might just be written by a fan of the park. I cannot find an online source for it but it still does needs a good clean-up. DoubleBlue (Talk) 22:10, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at it again, it doesn't seem to be a copy-vio, just written by someone who is unfamilliar with Wiki conventions of style. It even has references directly in the intro. It mostly just needs to be rearranged into the right style. •Zhatt• 22:48, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
I just did a slight clean up of the article. Much more work needs to be done! However, I agree with Zhatt that these two articles are talking about two places and should not be merged. Canadian popcan 19:04, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There is an article about Cypress Hills Provincial Park, which is about the same location and in the same context (park). I believe that a merge would be appropriate in this case. By the way, the correct name for this park is Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and so I am suggesting the CHPP page be merged to the CHIP page. BrianC 05:30, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

West Block vs. west block

[edit]

I noticed West Block is capitalised in the history section but no where else. East block and centre block are not capitalised. I was going to capitalise it all as, to me at least, they're proper nouns describing a named area. Before I do that, though, I just want to bring it up here first incase I'm wrong. Thoughts? (West Block is also capitaised in Geography) Masterhatch (talk) 13:08, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
