Cusine of Toronto

[edit]

No really, an article on the "cusine of Toronto"...okay I'm on the floor laughing....seems like someone needs to get/ beef up their writing credits. This is just a sly reason to create a list of a bunch of chefs. they have resumes...they dont need to be listed on wikipedia.69.165.153.200 (talk) 21:38, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

the information on this page is redundant. The ethnic food neighborhoods is an oxymoron, most of these foods can be found in any part of Toronto, and in most part of the GTA suburbs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.165.153.200 (talk) 21:44, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think you don't know what you're talking about. Many foods can indeed be found in many parts of Toronto. The fact remains, however, that concentrations of ethnic groups in certain areas ensure that those areas will have a higher concentration of foods catering to that ethnic group, and will be far more authentic besides. Like it or not, Toronto cuisine is very much shaped by some chefs (and I have worked for more than one of the people named on the page), and it's extremely easy to map out some general areas that Toronto cuisine inhabits: ethnic cuisines (which most of the time means 'cuisines from non-caucasian countries'--not a complaint at all, just an observation--but not always; one could consider rustic Italian for example to be an 'ethnic' cuisine. See Pizzeria Libretto, for just one example), meat & taters (e.g. Stockyards for example), and high end (usually fusion) dining (Susur is obviously the top example, though Colborne Lane and Origin would be contenders too). → ROUX  22:01, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should there be a section on Toronto-style pizza?

[edit]

I remember not too long ago there was an article in The Globe & Mail on how Vietnamese immigrants have developed a unique take on pizza:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/meet-torontos-new-masters-of-the-pizza/article26760501/

I feel like this could warrant a mention on the main page, though I'm not too well-versed in contributing to Wikipedia in a way that conforms with the standards of style and tone, so perhaps someone else could add that in for me? Though if not, I suppose I could take a stab at it. Speyeker (talk) 19:51, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
