Plagiarism and whitewashing

[edit]

Certain contributors to this page are committing intellectual theft by plagiarizing external sources--rather than paraphrasing the source, it is being copied & pasted without proper citation (i.e., quotation marks around directly lifted passages). Further, the same or another contributor is whitewashing history by removing references to known historical figures, such as Ante Pavelić, and to factually-based explanations for why so many Croats, many of them with Ustaše ties, emigrated to Argentina after WWII--see Ratlines (World War II aftermath). For example, the "History" section of this entry is taken almost verbatim from this site. I say "almost" verbatim because the contributor has conveniently left out all references to Croatian fascists, many of whom who fled to South America. Note which sections of this passage have been removed: "If the first two waves had been primarily economic, the third wave after the Second World War was eminently political. Ante Pavelic, the Ustase leader who had been able to create a Croat state for the first time in nearly 1,000 years at the price of aligning with the Axis, did not find too many doors open to him around the world after the Nazi defeat in 1945 and ended up in Peron's Argentina. Some 20,000 Croat political refugees came to Argentina and most became construction workers on Peron's public works projects until they started to pick up some Spanish. Between 1948 and 1957 Buenos Aires was the capital of Pavelic's Croat government in exile." I inserted a link in the "see also" section, but a certain user deleted it within 24 hours. Let's be very clear what's going on here: ideologically-motivated users are editing entries related to Croatia in an attempt to whitewash history. It's dishonest (to put it mildly) and needs to be stopped by the powers that be at Wikipedia. 96.255.197.66 (talk) 19:21, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
