"Related" programs

[edit]

Per the instructions for {{Infobox television}}, |related= is for "Related TV shows, i.e. remakes, spin-offs, adaptations for different audiences, etc". This is reflected in the note in the infobox that also says "Spinoffs of spinoffs are not considered to be related for the purposes of this field. The field is for a direct chronology." Although not written in the instructions, this statement is correct. If we were to include spinoffs of spinoffs we could end up with a long list of programs, some of which may bear no relationship to the subject program. This is the case generally and not specifically for this program. The edit summary for this edit by Oknazevad is incorrect. A franchise article is not an article about a specific program, it's a general overview of the programs that share the same immediate galaxy within a universe (although more correctly it's a solar system within a galaxy!). Only programs that are direct spin-offs should be included, which is why Chicago Justice is included and why the others are not. Neither Chicago Med of Chicago Fire are spin-offs or remakes of this series. The edit summary claim that "the parameter is also supposed to include the series from which this one spun off" is not correct. We don't include the parent series, just any children. Also contrary to the edit summary, Chicago Fire is not the parent series, it was just the first series in the franchise. Fire, Med and P.D. are siblings, not parents and children. --AussieLegend () 16:10, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Then there's a lot of articles that are out of compliance with instructions, including all the Law & Order and NCIS articles. The fact is that the instructions are not an accurate documentation of how the parameter is used, or intended. oknazevad (talk) 16:58, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, in some ways, it should be that way because there are a lot of TV show franchises, such as "Law & Order", "NCIS", "Chicago" and "FBI", among others. That should be discussed about regarding shows that are the same franchises. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:59, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why does TVW (Wisconsin My Network TV) have The Goldbergs on instead? 2600:1700:B270:20F0:E5A1:163D:1873:59BF (talk) 02:05, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Movieguide Award 2024

[edit]

Hello, please add an additional award from the Movieguide Awards Best Television for Mature Audiences – CHICAGO P.D.: “New Life” - Award Won. I tried adding it myself but the "Won" category wouldn't fill in with green. Could you tell me how to do this for future reference? Thanks :) AB12349 (talk) 22:27, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
