Critical response

The attempt to give freshness is unmistakably evident and "Charlie" has its moments thanks to its unpredictability which is its hallmark. "Charlie" could be termed an audacious attempt but grandiose visions don't necessarily translate into well-crafted cinema. Pared down expectations could make it a reasonable weekend watch.[1] Hishamu7776 (talk) 18:17, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adding content to Plot sub-section

[edit]

Please discus the edits if you wish to add a non-promotional plot to the film. --Nairspecht (talk) 08:49, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Charlie a histrionic artsy vagabond who leaves behind crumbs of his colored life, the trail is picked up by Tessa. Tessa fancies Charlie and finds him at Thrissur Pooram, her narcissistic self finds content in finally meeting and avoids introducing herself as Tessa at first. Later Charlie's antics makes her want him more. They fall in love and lead life as vagabonds."[1] Seems good why add unnecessary tags and later remove using meat puppetry citing requirement of simplified English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.215.197.253 (talkcontribs)
This is hard both to read and understand as far as basic English readers are concerned. Wikipedia is about simplicity. Also, IMDb is not always a credible source as content is often added by random people. As can be seen on this film's IMDb page, the synopsis has been taken from BookMyShow, which is again not a credible source. However, you are free to reframe the sentences and add that to the page. Claims about characters

[edit]

117.241.21.13 I have watched the movie. Defining the characters of Parvathy and Dulquer as "narcissistic" and "histrionic" is odd. Not a word about this is mentioned in the movie, so it's a personal claim. If you want to support your claims, list reliable sources here. Does any reviewer wrote this in his website ?. The content stays away until you show a reliable source for the exaggerated character features. --Charles Turing (talk) 17:55, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Saw your work with Leela (2016 film), it was a sad attempt. Oddities are clearly in the way you define the film from your viewed perspective. Everything is self explanatory because it is sourced with the element of the story. The content stays until you show a reliable source showing the character features as otherwise. Follow Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. 117.213.17.33 (talk) 20:35, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
117.213.17.33, In this edit you inexplicably moved Nairspecht's comment down, pinged Charles Turing, and then appended your signature to the end. I don't know what the purpose of this was, but please do not refactor other editors' comments. Assuming you are the same editor who was also commenting at Talk:Action Hero Biju, I will reiterate that subjective content, i.e. adjectives like "narcissistic" and "histrionic" typically require personal interpretation, so when there is a dispute, sourcing is the best way out of the debate. Occasionally it's obvious that the character is narcissistic--the character Dennis Reynolds from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is indisputably narcissistic because they play that up tremendously, but even still, there are sufficient references to support the claim.[1][2] And no, unsourced subjective content doesn't need to remain in the article per BRD. If new content is added, and that content is disputed and removed, it should stay out until consensus exists for its inclusion. You don't get to unilaterally shift the burden to Charles Turing to disprove something subjective. That doesn't make any sense. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:55, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
117.213.17.33 Exactly my which edit in Leela (2016 film) are you talking about ? Show the diff. And why did you removed my section title ?. --Charles Turing (talk) 08:22, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cyphoidbomb The IP has shifted his edits from Action Hero Biju to Charlie. All the IPs geolocate to the same place - Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India and is using a BSNL connection for internet. He has done a serious vandalism by removing other user's (Nairspecht) comment and the section title. He also changed the quality rating of Leela (2016 film), the action which is only privileged to the members of WikiProject Film. He is probably a sock previously blocked for edit warring. --Charles Turing (talk) 09:27, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

fake box office collection

[edit]

Charlie 10 days collection is 9.69 crore, 18day box office gross is 14 crore.the 40 crore gross is fake.(www.moviezreview.com,www.filmibeats.com)the total collection has not crossed 20 crore .charlie wasn't a blockbuster Athulnandu (talk) 11:31, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Athulnandu, I wouldn't consider either of the websites you've cited as useful. Moviezreview.com appears to be under construction and filmibeats.com doesn't resolve for me. Even if you meant Filmibeat.com, I wouldn't consider that an authoritative source, as it appears to be a blog. Per WP:UGC, we don't care what blogs have to say, since anyone can start a blog and call himself an expert on any subject. Contrarily, IBT, which is generally considered a reliable source, notes that the gross is "inching towards Rs 40 crore." Though I wouldn't consider that to mean that the film had crossed 40 crore, it certainly puts us in the ballpark, whereas your claims are entirely unsourced.
