Questions

[edit]

What is the history of the discovery of the infectious etiology of this disease? Who first thought it was caused by Afipia felis and who subsequently proved that Cat-Scratch Fever is caused by Bartonella henselae and Bartonella clarridgeiae? ReasonableLogicalMan(Talk 20:37, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How is it believed to be transmitted by getting the cat's blood into the human while it can be transmitted through scratch? Is the article suggesting that the cat scratches itself then the human? Is it ALSO carried by the flea and tick? 216.201.244.147 (talk) 17:07, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some qualification for severe cases

[edit]

I had an associate who experienced severe reactions to a cat scratch that had permanent effects on his health and his memory. The tone of the article at the moment seems to suggest the prognosis is "generally favorable" without commenting on more severe possibilities. Could someone speak to this? 67.169.127.166 (talk) 01:53, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name is wrong

[edit]

The name is supposed to be "Cat Scratch Disease" not cat scratch fever. Just look on CDC.gov —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.123.216 (talk) 01:55, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article categorization

[edit]

This article was initially categorized based on scheme outlined at WP:DERM:CAT. ---kilbad (talk) 05:24, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Erythromycin

[edit]

This was a UWorld question, and Erythromycin was the preferred antibiotic, albeit the others listed in the article were not options. Avkrules (talk) 18:40, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Causative agent

[edit]

Is the disease caused by Bartonella henselae or Bartonella quintana? The latter has an article that does not mention cat scratch. It has a different mode of transmission, according to the article. Can someone fix this? Zaslav (talk) 22:10, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why does "neuroretinitis" redirect here?

[edit]

Not mentioned in text. A synonym? 86.164.23.31 (talk) 23:58, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
