Can't Take That Away From MeCan't Take That Away from Me — According to the MoS for capitalization the new name would be the correct name. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 15:37, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But isn't the From capitalized in the title itself? Where does the MoS state that we should change the album title? Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 01:41, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Capitalization is purely a style issue and does not represent a change to the title. Powers T 13:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks. In that case, support. Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 13:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

different songs?

[edit]

There is another old song by Ella Fitzgerald (original i think), and others of the era with the name (lyrics go "no, no they cant take that away from me). If this song is also sung by someone would be better to disambiguate 2 different pages or just list both here and differ in section (with the lead mentioning each)Lihaas (talk) 20:34, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You mean "They Can't Take That Away from Me" Gareth E Kegg (talk) 21:08, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Should we then have a disambiguation link on top to refer to this? One word can confuse many.Lihaas (talk) 14:25, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
a WP:HATNOTE would suffice. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 16:37, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I, uh, took care of that a few hours ago. Powers T 18:27, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well done, good call m8. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 20:27, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge from In the Dark (song)

[edit]

I propose a merge from In the Dark (song) as the song is not notable per WP:NSONG. As far as I'm aware it is not a single and does not really explain why it is notable. Mhiji (talk) 19:57, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

what happens when you merge the articles —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lilbadboy312 (talkcontribs) 21:34, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the articles are merged, two things would happen. (1) In the Dark (song) would become a redirect to Can't Take That Away from Me. (2) Some or all of the content of the song article would be incorporated into the album article, possibly as a new section about the song. The second point depends on having one or more editors who are willing to do the work, but that's what's supposed to happen with a merge. Mudwater (Talk) 22:30, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support, the article contents would be written into the main album's article. Lilbadboy312 was told repeatedly not to create this article hence a number of other names for the article were protected. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 21:43, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Trying repeatedly to create the same article under different names should not be done, but the question here is whether or not the articles should be merged, editor behavior aside. Does In the Dark fail to meet the guidelines for notability? Looking at the references in the article, the song does seem to have received some coverage in third-party sources. Mudwater (Talk) 22:38, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nowhere near enough to warrant an independent article. No charts and no awards, the song/single doesn't have enough detailed information. Since there is no other confirmed singles from the mixtape it should be merged there. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:40, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently there have been some previous discussions about this question and it was decided that the song should not have its own article. Per this admin edit, "redirected, merge from history at will". Thanks to those who have participated in this discussion. Mudwater (Talk) 23:42, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

mixtape?

[edit]

Why is this a mixtape? All but one song has JoJo as writer, but does she also perform them? Is it a mixtape only because it was/is free? 82.141.117.188 (talk) 06:55, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A mixtape is simply a collection of recordings that an artist distributes for free. Its a mixtape because she released it as one. Yes in Hip-Hop mixtapes consist of freestyles and covers but JoJo is a pop singer and this is material she specifically recorded to release to fans for free as a mixtape. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 10:14, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

George Gershwin default

[edit]

This was originally a George Gershwin song that has been recorded by a pantheon of Jazz legends. Please someone make that the default page.
