Cairo Airport has three runways?

[edit]

Aren't there three runways in Cairo International Airport? I went to the Google maps site and saw that the airport actually has 3 runways. Jim856796 06:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There were three runways. The intersecting one was closed. The new third runway in the south was inaugerated in 2010. Also the first landing of an A380 was on the new runway. It will be used for scheduled traffic from 2011. Then the northern runway will be closed for reconstruction.--JochenvW (talk) 14:21, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Single vs multiple tables for airline destinations

[edit]

Cairo Airport

[edit]

The "one table for each terminal" concept is a remnant from the time the dest-list template did not exist. Since then, airport destination lists have been gradually merged into a single table. A lot still do show multiple tables, but a simple check of LHR, FRA, BOM, MIA, FCO, AMS, JFK, ORD, NRT etc will show that a single table is what is being used everywhere; Cairo wasn't singled out for special treatment. By the way, CDG remains with multiple tables for each terminal because of an issue with the template (that's being resolved). Also refer the project guidelines and discussion. In any event, it makes no logical sense to have a single table with terminal column for some flights, but not for others. I am restoring the single table for Cairo Airport. Please do not split into multiple tables before discussing at an appropriate forum. Thanks, Jasepl (talk) 18:00, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete destination map

[edit]

The table in the 'Airlines and destinations' section includes N'Djamena, Berbera and Hargeisa as destinations, but in the accompanying destination map, Chad and Somalia are not filled in. In the cases of Berbera and Hargeisa, no sources are cited, so perhaps somebody should attempt to find a source and make sure the table is correct before editing the map.
