Which Air Force?

Which side of the 17th parallel did he fly for during the war? If was for the North, then he would have definitely not flown for the Viet Nam Air Force VNAF or more commonly known as the South Vietnamese Air Force as stated in the article. It looks like he was flying for the north. Changes should be made if this is so. --hvn73 03:48, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The "It has been suggested that his plane was accidentally shot down by a RIM-66 Standard surface to air missile fired by the USS Thomas S.
