Comment on Coalition

[edit]

2 The candidate, running independently from the Liberal-PC Coalition, is listed as "Conservative" rather than "Progressive Conservative" in the Statement of Votes.

I'm weighing on this subject and will soon write an article on the Coalition, which should NOT be considered the sum of its two parts; it's also not a merger of the PROGRESSIVE Conservatives and the Grits; but only of the Conservatives; the PC name was only adopted in BC after the dissolution of the Coalition. The Coalition appeared on the ballot as a party, and is also not simply a temporary coalition of the other two parties as several members and candidates from each party did not partake of the Coalition, and fought it bitterly; this is why the Independent Conservative just mentioned, and the Progresssive Liberal elsewhere in '45 (George Murray in Lillooet). There's now a colour-code for the Coalition, but I won't interfere with the main results table here or in '45; not yet anywaySkookum1 21:29, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
