Proposal to change (move) the title of the article

[edit]

I would like to change the name/title of the article to "Bylandt's brigade". I have a number of objections to the current name. The first is that it may contain a capitalization error. That depends on how one interprets the title. It is possible that the title is a Dutch sentence, properly translated into English as "Bylandt's brigade". As this is a correct English form and it is used elsewhere in Wikipedia, in particular in Battle of Waterloo, there is no need to use a Dutch sentence in an Anglophone Wikipedia. This is my main motivation for proposing the change. But it is also possible that the title is a reference to the way the brigade is sometimes called in Dutch and English historical sources, namely the "brigade-Van Bylandt", i.e. a combination using the full surname of the general-commanding the brigade. If that is the intent the surname is wrongly capitalized: the prefix "van" should be capitalized to "Van" per the capitalization rules for Dutch surnames of the Nederlandse Taalunie (see also Capitalization#Compound names). To correct this the title should also be moved, but then only to "Brigade-Van Bylandt". However, though this is an in itself acceptable name in "military circles", it is less often used than "Bylandt's brigade". Moving the article would not have many technical consequences. It is only linked to by a few wikipedia articles. In the process of moving the page a redirect page will automatically be generated to solve any ensuing problems.
