The name of this article needs to be changed

[edit]

As the show has changed it's name and primary network, the name of the article should be changed to reflect this.

This is not a new show, as the seasons carried on from season 3, Canada's Front Line directly to season 4, America's Front Line. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wmulder (talkcontribs) 07:18, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Name is changed now. Wmulder (talk) 07:44, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wmulder: You haven't provided any citation noting that the program Border Security: America's Front Line is an extension of, a spin-off or a name change from Border Security: Canada's Front Line. From the citations in the page, all I can see is that a National Geographic show was not renewed after season three, and a different channel airs a program called Border Security: America's Front Line. Nowhere have you demonstrated it is the same show, and as I explained in my revert before your rapid page move, can you provide any source that the America's Front Line is not a seperate program (and would thus be given its own article) or is not a re-edit of a program such as Homeland Security USA airing in Canada under a different title (eg. Border Security: Canada's Front Line airs under the title Border Security: International in Australia)? Short of proving this, your page move seems quite hasty to me. -- Whats new?(talk) 07:56, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent of an email to

jacqui.vansickle@corusent.com

And will await her answer.

What is true though is that America's Front Line did not start till after Canada's Front Line was done, but that the seasons carried on. There never was a 1, 2 or 3rd season for America's front Line.

Until then, have a great day. :)

BTW, how would I submit an email as evidence?Wmulder (talk) 08:09, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wmulder: It is usually preferred to find a third party online reference, not first hand information where possible. I see some evidence to support your claims in a quick search myself, just nothing that would qualify as a reputable citation here. -- Whats new?(talk) 08:36, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so far I have send the email to the network, online query to the producer, and left the question on the FB pages of Global Toronto, Global BC and Global News. So far no answers. Too bad nobody posted any official announcement about this show. I think I'll contact our local station next week to ask them in person, and maybe they can post something online.

Now I based my conclusion of America's Frontline to be a continuation of Canada's front Line on the fact that Canada's Frontline went to season 3, and after a short hiatus, America's Frontline began with season 4 ( no seasons 1 to 3 ever existed for America's Front Line.) It definitely is not "Homeland Security USA" repackaged for Canadian Television. It now has as the primary network Global Television, the first 3 season had National Geographic Channel (Canada) as its primary network. However, Corus Entertainment owns both Global (100%) and National Geographic (Canada)(80% and managing partner).

In conclusion, until I get an answer from one of the above named recourses, I can only post a couple of links to the schedules of both Global and Nat Geo, watch for the production numbers:

Put it back to the original, can't get any people from the network to either confirm or deny it is the same show. Will start a new page about America's Front Line Wmulder (talk) 16:50, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
