[edit]If you include the Digil in the Rahanweyn (as this article does) and you base yourselve on the CIA-map 2002 (as this article does) the "percentage of the Somali people" should be 17 + 3 = 20 %. yuihh
Somalias major clans
[edit]If you talk about the major clans, don't forget the "Issaq" (majority in Somaliland)! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maandeeq (talk • contribs) 10:13, 12 December 2006 (UTC). gfhfgh —Preceding unsigned comment added by 15.195.201.89 (talk) 19:37, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Rahaweyn sub-clans
[edit]The Rahanweyn sub-clans section had been tagged for cleanup since 2007. I have replaced the text with attributed information. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:58, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but you completely wiped out the clan names, especially the major Digil family. You could have listed the source, which itself states there are more than 30 sub-clans within Rahanweyn and left at that. You didn't have to wipe out clean all the clan names. No need for that. If you clean completely this one, that would also mean to clean every major clan family sub-clan names on Wikipedia to standardize, which isn't obviously the case. - Soomaali (talk • contribs) —Preceding undated comment added 06:37, 26 November 2009 (UTC).
- We've been working on clean-up, albeit a little at a time. Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:44, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Page name
[edit]User:Hubeer had moved the article to "Raxanweyn." That may be the Somali language spelling (i.e. the "x" replaces the English language "h"), but this is the English Wikipedia, and the common English spelling is evidently "Rahanweyn" (e.g. [1], [2], [3]). Thus, I have moved the article back to "Rahanweyn." Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:31, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- Seems reasonable. I didn't know one way or the other when I made my edits, but I just didn't understand why he was changing the title to use "x" and then changing the name within the article to use "h" where it had already been spelled with "x". —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:31, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hi @Ayaltimo:,
You're right. I assumed Maay was a separate language, which is disputed. The majority of scholars view it as a dialect of the Somali language, in line with your edit. Dabaqabad (talk) 04:39, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
