To do to improve

[edit]

Here are some basics that would greatly improve this article:

  • approximate birth year
  • childhood family and influences (if known)
  • photo or a painting available?
  • his political and diplomatic interactions while Chief
  • any memorable quotes?
  • in-line citation
  • references, references, references

Please cross off the list as they have been completed. Thanks. CJLippert 20:10, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mistatement

[edit]

The following paragraph removed because he's the wrong person.

Near Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas overlooking the Arkansas River, there is a sign which reads:

>>> This appears to have been a namesake and not the same person. GenQuest (talk) 01:56, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(New Echota) Ustanali

[edit]

GenQuest, should we not link Ustanali to New Echota or even New Town, Georgia, maybe as a redirect?--Tsistunagiska (talk) 17:05, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am adding the Cherokee Syllabary and Romanized version to both of the above articles and then adding wikilinks where needed. One is the actual site of the capital building while the other could be the location of the town as it is right up against the New Echota site. That's why I included both in the template.--Tsistunagiska (talk) 17:12, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Tsistunagiska, I agree with the New Town link. Makes the most sense physically speaking. But then, New Echota makes the most sense culture wise. With towns, tho, I think physically wins. GenQuest "Talk to Me" 17:45, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@GenQuest:I agree, link to the article of New Town which has New Echota as a wikilink within it. I think that makes a good chain. --Tsistunagiska (talk) 17:55, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
