Wow

[edit]

This article has absolutely no sources to back it up. A lot of it sounds like stuff made up by the author. --78.148.54.225 (talk) 14:28, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Punches, pulls, and "the Bumps" I checked each reference and each text (Google Books) for that section and only one reference mentioned Bumps at http://kidsparties.com/TraditionsInDifferentCountries.htm and then only one short mention for UK and Ireland. As user 78.148.54.225 says, this section appears to be made up. Keelback (talk) 06:11, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can say from from my own experience that birthday bumps are pretty common in India. So there is nothing made up about this here. I cannot speak for the other countries mentioned, though. However, I'm gonna revert the removal of the section, hoping it will be backed up by additional references if necessary. --CyRoXX (talk) 23:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Birthday Beatings" as they are often called in Canada are a common phenomena. The title of this portion of the article could be changed to a more appropriate one.
Never heard of it in New Zealand. I think it is less common than suggested. No doubt it is a recent American import - as most illogical, vulgar or abusive "customs" are.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:53, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously mentions "animal sacrifices" in South Africa Patron Vectras (talk) 16:57, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's worse than we thought - reference 6 is now a 404 Shtanto (talk) 01:33, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
