Editing this page..?
[edit]This page needs to be edited as the introduction makes no sense.
Holofernes
[edit]Why is Holofernes not in the list of characters? Badagnani (talk) 06:54, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Because he is not a character here. 77.233.88.133 (talk) 17:34, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Then why does the introduction to this article state that he is? Your comment just doesn't make sense. Badagnani (talk) 20:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's based on the Book of Judith but Holofernes never actually appears. Achior describes him (in 'Terribile d'aspetto') and then Giuditta tells how she killed him in the long accompagnato preceding 'Prigionier che fa ritorno'. That's it.77.233.88.133 (talk) 22:40, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that answers it. This information should be added to the article to avoid further confusion. Badagnani (talk) 22:44, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Leopold Kozeluch
[edit]I have removed the reference to Leopold Kozeluch. The libretto to Kozeluch's setting is by Giovanni Bertati who had just become court poet in Vienna. This is written on the cover of the one known surviving score, and listed in Postolka's catalog of Kozeluch's works. For instance, Holofernes is a character in the Kozeluch/Bertati version
