Her surname

[edit]

If Beni's father is White, and her mom is Japanese, how in the world did Beni end up with a Japanese surname? Did she just take her mom's maiden name and use it as her stage name when she started out, or what? Why sigh, cutie pie? 00:22, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I wonder too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.134.244.230 (talk) 11:35, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Beni in the Japanese Christians category?

[edit]

There is nothing in the article that points out that she is a Christian. --User:zowki —Preceding undated comment added 01:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

English stylised name

[edit]

There are plenty of English sources that list Beni as "BENI" in English ([1] [2] [3] [4] [5]), it is not necessary to remove that. Furthermore, it's notable information to add to a Wikipedia article that her name is stylised in a certain way in Japan. --Prosperosity (talk) 07:56, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for this note, very courteous. But who is Kim Groomes and why is Kim Groomes a reliable source? this looks like a simple html post rather than a book. How is Beni spelled in English print books? For example "The Japanese singer Beni has.." or "The Japanese singer BENI has". We see people going and writing "The American singer MADONNA today.." on websites, but that isn't notable. In fact Kim Groomes also writes "She will be the opening act for J-rock band, SOPHIA" and the "musical artist MELL". This looks like a poor source.
This is different from noting that "BENI「学びより友情でした」.. that's not part of English, it's very common to overcapitalize eg MADONNA in Japanese among kanji and hiragana rather than use katakana. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:15, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
