Purpose?

[edit]

This article does not adequately explain the purpose of barbels and how they are useful to fish. Would someone with better knowledge of the subject than myself care to expand it? Liamoliver (talk) 02:00, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Turtles?

[edit]

This says "in turtle anatomy", but the neither this article nor the turtle anatomy article explains which, if any, turtles have barbels. There's no citation, either. Do any turtles have barbels, or was this a spurious link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2403:5804:C6:0:0:0:0:C07 (talk) 23:59, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
