Number of Aircraft Operated

[edit]

The introduction has included 162 airplanes (130 of them combat-capable) further down in aircraft inventory it has operates 224 aircraft, including 60 combat jets and 89 helicopters. I presume that one of them is wrong ? MilborneOne 22:06, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It may be that the Aviation navale is a subpart of the Aéronautique navale which is the full name for the entire aviation branch of the Marine nationale. Born as a fusion of carrier squadrons and naval patrol air force implies that naval training and liaison aircraft are not included in the subtotal of 162. We really need a page about the Aéronautique navale, perhaps by moving and correcting this one. PpPachy 12:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I plan to create the naval air base articles

Are they any objections to me using the "Place name" Naval Air Base as a translation of "Base d'aéronautique navale de "Place name"".

Squadron naming structures

[edit]

For the squadron names would it be correct to use "4 Flotille" or "Flottille 17F"? Gavbadger (talk) 14:14, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The more usual form in French is "Flotille 17F" so perhaps that should be used. MilborneOne (talk) 16:09, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
