Redesign
[edit]A lot of game were missing, so I added and redesign this page:
- Tried to have the same type of table as others Tier 1 nations (from most recent to oldest, etc...). See History of rugby union matches between France and New Zealand for example.
- Removed "Time" & "Crowd" as they were uncomplete (only Tri Nations game) and most of those informations are available on the corresponding Tri Nations page anyway (added some links on the score to the corresponding WP Tri Nations article).
- Added back a flag for easily reading who has won, using the alternate alignment template for New Zealand.
Still inspired by the History of rugby union matches between France and New Zealand page but having nothing yet to write to an History section, I'm splitting (again) the table, by "era" this time. The order is wrong for an History section (should be from oldest to earliest) but those split could help prepare each articles before moving them and ordering them under a proper "History" heading.
What do you think? Simon.huet (talk) 21:52, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Flags
[edit]Flags should be changed to colours black and yellow for easier recognition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.98.226.14 (talk) 17:22, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have removed the flags entirely. At 22px, they are completely indistinguishable from each other, so they serve no purpose other than adding a splash of colour to an otherwise bland list. I have also re-ordered the table, since it is the custom here to list the earliest entries at the top and the latest entries at the bottom. – PeeJay 23:42, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Added back the flags but using the right alignment for New Zealand (Using "ru" template for Australia and "ru-rt" template for New Zealand (alphabetic order)) . - Simon.huet (talk) 21:52, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Missing games
[edit]Hi there,
Here is a list of missing games that I have identified.
Wow, only another 12 games missing, and you'd have it correct. Go to the IRB website, and you'll find that there have been 164 matches, with lots of games between 1920 and 1938 missing. Here they are:
15 September 1928 New Zealand 8 - 11 Australia Lancaster Park 08 September 1928 New Zealand 16 - 14 Australia Carisbrook 05 September 1928 New Zealand 15 - 12 Australia Athletic Park 29 July 1926 Australia 21 - 28 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 20 July 1926 Australia 0 - 14 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 17 July 1926 Australia 6 - 11 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 10 July 1926 Australia 26 - 20 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 19 September 1925 New Zealand 36 - 10 Australia Eden Park 23 June 1925 Australia 3 - 11 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 20 June 1925 Australia 0 - 4 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 13 June 1925 Australia 3 - 26 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 16 July 1924 Australia 8 - 38 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 12 July 1924 Australia 5 - 21 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 05 July 1924 Australia 20 - 16 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 15 September 1923 New Zealand 38 - 11 Australia Athletic Park 01 September 1923 New Zealand 34 - 6 Australia Lancaster Park 25 August 1923 New Zealand 19 - 9 Australia Carisbrook 07 August 1922 Australia 8 - 6 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 05 August 1922 Australia 14 - 8 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 29 July 1922 Australia 19 - 26 New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society Ground 03 September 1921 New Zealand 0 - 17 Australia Lancaster Park 07 August 1920 Australia 13 - 24 New Zealand Sydney Sports Ground 31 July 1920 Australia 6 - 14 New Zealand Sydney Sports Ground 24 July 1920 Australia 15 - 26 New Zealand Sydney Sports Ground
It seemed a little strange that Australia and New Zealand hadn't played a game during the period 1919 to 1928, and so, as I had just been reviewing this, I went back to my list. This will substantially affect your stats.
New Zealand 114 69.51%
Australia 45 27.44%
Draws 5 3.05%
Total 164
At Eden Park New Zealand 20 86.96% Australia 3 13.04% Total 23 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gjkiwi (talk • contribs) 21:22, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the missing info. Strange, I was using the stats on the allblacks.com site. Strange they are missing those games. Anyway all is well complete it seems now. Thanks. Simon.huet (talk) 02:06, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- I reverted my changes as I found those IRB entries bogus. Go to http://www.rugbymuseum.co.nz/ and you will see those games were not played by Australia but by New South Wales. They could be included on the side as there was no Australia team at that time. Simon.huet (talk) 03:17, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
