The picture of the Arbys roast beef on the right is not what most look like... they are much more well prepared and look so much more appetizing!

Largest Restaurant?

[edit]

On the Wiki page it says the biggest Arbys in the world was built in Colonial Heights and West Richmond Va in 1993. But I found an article(see below) that says the largest Arbys in the world was built in Tulsa, OK in 1995. Could someone please clarify which is the largest. Thanks, Joe

Formed beef

[edit]

I worked as a manger and general manager in North Carolina for an Arby's franchise in the late 60s. Back then we used real inside top rounds instead of the formed beef they use. I also went to "Arby's school" in Ohio and met the Raffel Brothers. I remember when we started selling potato cakes and turnovers, that was a big deal. Before that there were only a small selection of sandwiches. We made our Jamocha syrup from scratch back then too. It sure has changed. Leeshor1 (talk) 00:35, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Roy Rogers Restaurants uses, or at least used to use when I ate there, real not formed beef.

I know this is old, but WP:OR. If users want to add that sort of information, find a news article discussing it. YesPretense (talk) 17:01, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Milkshake size

A "large" milkshake is the same size as a "medium" soda. The article should probably say something about that. Hackwrench (talk) 19:02, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interstate Franchising date?

[edit]

The article states, "Expansion to other states began in 1968, beginning in...Detroit". There was an Arby's in East Lansing Michigan in 1968. I lived a block away from it. We moved to Arizona in June 1968. I cannot be certain that the East Lansing Arby's was more than 6 months old, but I do remember eating there a lot. I find it unlikely that they could begin outstate franchising in 1968 and get the special purpose build building up and open in time for me to eat there that much and still leave town in June.

The building is still there, but now contains the flagship Biggby Coffee shop. Nick Beeson (talk) 15:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My name is Jason Rollins and I currently work within the communications and public relations department at Arby’s. My team and I understand we should have consulted the community here before making these changes, and we’d like to clarify our reasons for making edits to the page. Arby’s has recently hired new leadership and refined the mission of the charitable arm of the company, the Arby’s Foundation. Our goal was simply to ensure that this information was correctly reflected on the Wikipedia page. Moving forward, our organization will consult this community through the talk pages prior to making any updates to the Wikipedia page.

Update to Arby's Product Info?

[edit]

My name is Jason Rollins and I work within the communications and public relations department at Arby’s. I would like to update the products section of the article with the following information about the Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket sandwich. “In October 2013, Arby’s introduced its most successful limited time offer, the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich, consisting of thinly sliced, smoked beef brisket, smoked Gouda cheese, barbecue sauce and crispy onions.” I look forward to hearing your thoughts. JasonRollins10 (talk) 14:46, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That kind of description for what a brisket is wouldn't be necessary, but do you have a reliable source that verifies that it was the "most successful"? - Aoidh (talk) 05:05, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Arby's Smokehouse Brisket sandwich was first introduced and offered in restaurants during the month of October 2013. During that period, Arby's sold an average of 64 Smokehouse Brisket sandwiches, per store, per day, making it the most successful new product in the Brand's 50-year history. JasonRollins10 (talk — Preceding undated comment added 18:51, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a reliable source for that though? - Aoidh (talk) 20:46, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is a third-party reference to the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich launch from The National Provisioner that we can share: http://www.provisioneronline.com/articles/print/99972-bullish-on-brisket. Please let me know if you think this information suffices, otherwise I would like to just move forward with adding ‘In October 2013, Arby’s introduced the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich.' JasonRollins10 (talk — Preceding undated comment added 19:34, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I added it. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:52, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Here are a couple of other updates for community consideration:

Advertising: In July 2014, Arby’s launched a new branding campaign built around the tagline, “We have the meats” and the hashtag “#Meatcraft” to focus on new product offerings centered on the meats served on their menu. [SOURCE: http://nrn.com/arbys/meat-arby-s-new-marketing-campaign-lto]

Remodeled Restaurant Design: Around the brand’s 50th Anniversary, Arby’s introduced a new “Inspire” remodeled restaurant design focused on a blend of quick-service speed with fast-casual dining. Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. plans to complete 30 remodels in 2014. In 2015, Arby’s plans to remodel between 70 and 100 company-owned locations, and expects at least 100 franchised units to convert to the new design. Interior enhancements include a strong color palette that ties to brand colors, subway tiling and stainless steel in the kitchen area, multicolor wood materials, modern lighting and chalkboard graphics. Exterior enhancements of the remodels include cantilevered red awnings at the drive-thru and entranceway, new internally-illuminated signage, wood tones and white brick, enhanced lighting and upgraded landscaping. I think this should be removed. The byline for the article states it was the most successful "new" product, but not the most successful product. I'd be hard pressed to believe it sells better than the classic roast beef, etc. Modor (talk) 08:13, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Modor[reply]

I propose that Market Fresh Sandwiches be merged into Arby's. I think that the content in the Market Fresh Sandwiches article fits naturally into the Arby's article. Market Fresh Sandwiches are more easily explained and understood in the context of the Arby's article and the Arby's article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Market Fresh Sandwiches will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Should the section Inspire Brands be split off?

[edit]

An editor recently suggested that the section Arby's#Inspire Brands should be split off per WP:SPLIT to form a new article. What the nominator did not know was that this section was a separate article that failed WP:AFD in July 2018 with the vote to WP:MERGE. (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Inspire Brands ).

Has there been enough new information added to this section yet that would make a new article large enough to survive a second AfD? If so, it is time to split the section off. -- 50.195.200.161 (talk) 02:02, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

It is very sad to see that the LACK of discussion here has degenerated into an edit war because no one is willing to discuss what is needed to improve the article about Inspire Brands to such an extend that it can successful survive a second AfD challenge, which should have been called in the first place instead of trying to enforce the first and only AfD. A recently called WP:DRV (which can be seen at Wikipedia:Deletion review#Inspire Brands) would probably serve the same purpose by having other editors and administrators who are not directly involved in the current edit war to give constructive suggests so we can move forward instead of seeing constant reversions and counter reversions every few hours until administrators locked both pages.
Triarc Companies also deserves its own page, but it is currently a redirect to a section of only 3 brief paragraphs. It had owned more companies that Inspire over its 15 years of existence, but no one is spending time to expand that section into an article.
No one bothered to discuss how the sale of Wendy's shares in Inspire was structured, since it is very important to note that Wendy's sold its shares to Inspire and not directly to Roark. Why is this important? Inspire does not necessarily have to give the shares to Roark. With Roark's blessings, Inspire could hang on to the shares and later give them to company officers. Kroll Bond Rating Agency, a company that monitors the financing need to fund the Sonics acquisition by Inspire, called Roark a "majority" owner several months after Wendy's was paid off. [1]
Regardless, Inspire is getting close to achieving notability if it has not already done so. The only question is, has it cross the threshold yet? If not, what does it still needs to be able to accomplish this task? - 03:46, 1 December 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.195.200.161 (talk)

Inspire Brands

[edit]

@Spshu: Inspire Brands should have its own page, it makes absolutely no sense for it to be on the Arby’s page. SportsFan007 (talk) 21:54, 19 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Inspire Brands, Inspire is not notable by itself. The former name of Inspire Brands is Arby's Restaurant Group, thus is better know as Arby's. Redirect easily handle routing to the Arby's article. Spshu (talk) 22:06, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Just to let you people know, I did try to start a discussion Here in September when another editor suggest re-splitting the article just two months after the original AfD decision to merge, but no one bothered to respond with enough NEW material that would allow the proposed article to survive a second AfD challenge. - 50.195.200.161 (talk) 02:35, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spshu: Please stop reverting, Inspire Brands is owned by Roark Capital Group, not Arby's. SportsFan007 (talk) 22:01, 27 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]
You are ignoring a prior AFD, reverted a prior discussion of whether it should be split off and ignoring the current discussion. Inspire Brands was called Arby's Restaurant Group. Ownership doesn't change that it was called Arby's and that Inspire is better know as Arby's and is its primary restaurant chain. Nor does grant WP:Notability. Spshu (talk) 22:08, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Spshu, Valoem, & SportsFan007. I will note for the discussion that consensus can change and that a company can go from not meeting WP:CORP to meeting it relatively quickly. Doing some quick searching, I came up with a number of news articles published in the fourish months since the July 29, 2018 AfD close which might push it into an area where it could have its own article. I personally have no opinion either way, but wanted to leave this information here to try to prioritize discussion over full-protecting the page or issuing blocks for edit warring. Please do not continue reverting each other, you can consider this a notice/warning for edit warning, and discuss here the company's current status and notability. Then, once a consensus has been reached, either restore the article or redirect. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Best, Mifter (talk) 01:39, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Duh. Consensus can change. However, SportsFan007 and Valeom were put on notice that there was a prior AFD by the IP Editor and myself then decide individually they were the consensus. I have found some of those sources and added them to the Inspire section at the Arby's article. Valeom has repeated incorrectly applied WP:NCORP at my talk page then running off and reverting, @Mifter:. Spshu (talk) 19:10, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Spshu: I have no idea what you are talking about, I did not revert any discussions. SportsFan007 (talk) 03:47, 28 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]

It was pointed out to you on my talk page. "Yes, you did remove the split discussion - "13:51, 10 October 2018‎ SportsFan007 (→‎Should the section Inspire Brands be split off?)". Spshu (talk) 00:42, 28 November 2018 (UTC)" Quit lying. I returned it after the IP editor indicated that it was improperly removed. Spshu (talk) 19:10, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spshu: Inspire brands is not Arby's if you are here to to build an encyclopedia you would drop this you are not making any sense, AfD outcomes can be overwritten with consensus, sources and logic. This is clearly a notable company. Valoem talk contrib 10:27, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Concensus is not you say you are the consensus. If you bother to check I have taken blocks because I HERE. You don't make sense you state you know NCORP then invoke what does NOT make a corporation notable in support. I know that AfD outcomes can be overwriten WITH consensus, you indicating that you will recruit expressly (WP:canvassing) to set the consensus (by pinging Cunard) and implying he would support your position. Presenting yourself as a superior as you did on my talk page is not logical nor an attempt to convince me ie. also know as developing consensus.
Per sources: "Inspire Brands, Inc., formerly Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc., is the owner of the Arby's restaurant chain,.." "The foodservice industry’s latest multi-concept operator was born on Monday as Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. completed a $2.9 billion acquisition of Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. and renamed itself Inspire Brands Inc."

Yes, Valoem, and... So? You are suggesting that it is inheriting notability by naming all its units; sorry but WP:INHERITORG indicates that this is not allowed. First you indicate WP:ORGSIG by the size of the company (multibillion dollar company), which isn't allowed and by additional events with out showing that those events' sources are not significant coverage of Inspire Brands.

Your CNN source still partly refers to Inspire as Arby's: "Well, Arby's owner is about to get beefier: It's buying hamburger joint Sonic for $2.3 billion." As does the Forbes article "The Evolution Of Arby's: From Neighborhood Chain To Food Industry Powerhouse" and "With its recent acquisition of Buffalo Wild Wings and the subsequent launch of its new multi-brand restaurant company – Inspire Brands – Arby’s is doing just that." NRN is a niche news source and I don't see where this has any significant coverage of Inspire.
Contest the speedy deletion instead of removing them from the article. Spshu (talk) 00:42, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So, how is Inspire not Arby's to media? Given no indication of the creation of a new Arby's operating corporation or a preexisting one, Arby's is a division of Inspire thus Inspire is Arby's and vice versa. Spshu (talk) 19:10, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That is completely incorrect, Arby's being a subsidiary or division absolutely does not make Arby's and Inspire Brands that same company. SportsFan007 (talk) 19:41, 28 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]
No I am correct. Arby's being a division of Inspire makes Arby's and Inspire the same corporation. Spshu (talk) 19:43, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No you are INCORRECT. Roark Capital Group owns Inspire Brands and Inspire Brands is the parent company that parents Arby's. THREE DIFFERENT COMPANIES, THREE SEPARATE ENTITIES. SportsFan007 (talk) 19:48, 28 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]

Ibox categorization

[edit]
  1. With its corporate form, Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. being renamed Inspire Brands, the Arby's chain with no prove of some form of operating subsidiary, either newly formed or preexisting, the Arby's chain is a division of Inspire. Thus Inspire is owner not parent and Arby's is a division.
  2. The Sonic purchase has not been finalized, thus cannot be listed until it has been. Thus should not be listed as a subsidiary of Inspire. Spshu (talk) 19:42, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Spshu: Arby's Restaurant Group and Arby's were never the same company, Arby's was a subsidiary of Arby's Restaurant Group. Please stop posted here and go to the DRV page. SportsFan007 (talk) 20:04, 28 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]

@Spshu: the title of the article you link says Inspire Brands is the parent of Arby's SportsFan007 (talk) 00:26, 29 November 2018 (UTC)SportsFan007[reply]

We should expand on the "Advertising" section.

[edit]

The "Advertising" section on this article is very small, only mentioning the most recent slogan and current commercial narrator. However, there's so much more to that.

They had many other slogans before "We have the meats", such as "What are you eating today?" and "It's good mood food". The full list of slogans can be found here.

They also had a mascot which was an oven mitt, which was voiced by Tom Arnold.

They have partnered with ELEAGUE at some point in the 2010s, which created a series of commercials involving their food being blown up. Despite it's presence in meme culture, there's little to no information online about the partnership other than the commercials posted. AFluffyMuffin (talk) 21:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
