[edit]Did this drink actually exist? or was it just used in the story?
The drinks in the book
[edit]What is the signifficance of "the woman" bringing the beer but "the girl" drinks it?
This drink never existed. It was invented by Hemingway. Every english-speaker can check it at yahoo, google, or any search engine.
On the other hand, in Spain we have a liqueur called "anís del mono". If you are interested, you can write an article about it.
