What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because the only reason given is "nn-autobio", which I understand to mean non-notable and an autobiography. I believe it is neither.

  • As for notability, Al Hosni has represented his country in the FIFA World Cup, which by itself satisfies WP:NFOOTBALL, so this article certainly does not meet the lower standard of 'no indication of importance' in the criteria for speedy deletion.
  • As for autobiography, not only can I not find any mention of it in the CSD, but I can't see any obvious evidence for this article's having been created by its subject. It has been edited by user:Alhosniomani20, but has not been largely written by him: I am not aware that it is usual to delete articles, speedily or otherwise, merely because they have been edited by someone who may be their subject. --CarrieVS (talk) 01:46, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think I wasn't meant to use that button. I was just meant to take the template off, right? I'll do that now. CarrieVS (talk) 01:49, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
