Good story - Text needs an independent edit!

[edit]

To the primary author of this article - please turn it over to someone for a structural edit. I for one would not dare take on this task without some authority. Evidently the author is a family member or otherwise connected. Reason being, it would be rather pointless to attempt to clarify the story without treading rather heavily on the style. And the style is obviously more personal than scholarly. But I thank you and will be 'only too glad' to reply to any questions. The text was copied wholesale from a 1915 book, so everything about him between 1915 and 1965 is either missing or unreferenced. Another source (but not a WP:RS) is this Find-A-Grave entry. --Alvestrand (talk) 21:40, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

The infobox says he died of a rifle accident. The prose says he died of a heart attack. One source on this point goes to the wrong place. The second source, a Chicago Tribune obituary says he had been ill for a long time. Trackinfo (talk) 21:34, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
